I fell in love with this drama. I couldn’t stop watching until I finished it. It’s sweet and pure. It’s my kind of love story. The characters didn’t even kiss but my heart was full after watching the whole series. I like the characters. The female lead is someone whom you’d describe as 真っすぐ or “massugu” lit. straight. “Massugu” is like a combination of being upright, honest, and direct. There’s a nuance of innocence or naivety too. She has a one track mind and pursues that one goal relentlessly. The male lead is your typical prince charming — cool, honorable, kind, and capable.
The story is cute. It has historical and sci-fi elements. A normal high school girl who runs fast time travels to the samurai war era. She falls in love with a young lord. In order to get closer to him, she disguised herself as a boy and became a foot soldier sworn to protect him.
The other dramas that started airing recently, which I I find interesting are Bungaku Shoujo (文学処女), Where Stars Land and The Third Charm. It’s a slow year for K-drama.
